Aquatics Programming: Amber Le
Raised in Unalaska, Alaska, Amber Le is an Unalaska City High School Alumni and holds a Bachelor of Art in Multidisciplinary Studies with a focus on Global Cultures and Science from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. Amber completed her degree with the intention to return to the place she calls "home" and give back to her community.
Due to the familiarity of a close-knit community, Amber is proud of her ability to develop relationships and incorporate diversity into the workplace. She values connection and working together with others, along with learning and problem-solving. Her connections have given her the opportunity to work in recreation, administration, accounting, and teaching.
Amber has a strong background in swimming - Varsity Swim Team, Swim Team Co-Captain, and former High School Women's 200 Yard Individual Medley record holder. She has also been a Lifeguard for the City of Unalaska, where she's gained experience in coaching Youth Swim League, instructing swim classes, and participating in other Aquatic Center Programs. Being an individual who constantly strives to accomplish goals, Amber hopes that she encourages children and adults to find their own passion in swimming, competitively or recreationally.
Amber’s favorite pastimes include tide-pooling/beach-combing, cooking/eating, taking her dog, Raider, for walks, and spending as much time as she can outdoors. Her favorite quote is by Tracee Ellis Ross: “I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be, to inspire me and not terrify me.”
