Happy New Year! Introducing the Aquatic Center’s Community Swim Journey - Start 2024 off strong by swimming Route 50 with the City of Unalaska. That’s a little more than 3,000 miles!! For the whole month of January, you can submit your yards after every swim and see how far you can help get us to our next destination. All ages are welcome to participate during the Aquatic Center’s pool operational hours – Daily Fee / Pass required.

UPDATE for ukulele class beginning Tuesday January 2nd: A single class on Tuesdays, from 6pm to 7pm in the Library Conference Room, will replace previously advertised "child or adult" classes. 2 of 6 spaces remain available. Participants under age 18 will require permission from the instructors assistant, Ms. Lisa. Classes are once a week for 12 weeks. You may bring your own ukulele or borrow a soprano ukulele from PCR.

Join us for an exciting Photography Club meeting at the Unalaska Public Library on Tuesday, January 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. 📸 This upcoming session will explore more photo editing techniques, with a special focus on mastering Adobe Lightroom Classic with a special tip for making your pictures pop even more in Adobe Photoshop! The skills and insights we delve into will be versatile and beneficial, extending beyond Lightroom to various photo editing platforms. Feel free to enhance your learning experience by bringing along your laptop or tablet equipped with Lightroom Classic, although it's not mandatory. The session is open to all, and there's no attendance fee. Our Photography Club gatherings typically conclude around 8:00 p.m., providing ample time for enriching discussions and shared passion for photography. 🕗 Additionally, we invite photographers to bring some of their New Year's Eve fireworks pictures to share and bring some additional inspiration and creativity to our session. 🎆

The registration deadline is quickly approaching to get your team organized and sign up for our recreational Unalaska City League Soccer! 18-year-olds may participate in City League Soccer so long as the participant is 18 before the start of the season. City League Soccer is open to both women and men, there are no minimum or maximum gender requirement amounts for teams. City League Soccer
Register for Youth Soccer League The PCR Youth Soccer League registration deadline is quickly approaching so get your grade school aged child signed up today for this excellent opportunity to grow their love for the sport of soccer! This league is a great opportunity for your child to learn the fundamentals of soccer and discover a lifelong love for the game! Because teams need to be assembled prior to the start of this league, registration will close on Wednesday January 3, 2024. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Each team will be scheduled to practice one day per week at either 5:15 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. All Kindergarten practices will be held at 5:15 p.m. and last for 45 min. Practices for grades 1st-8th will last 1 hour. There will be no soccer practice on Monday January 15 (MLK Day). Games will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. depending on participant numbers. Registration deadline for Youth Soccer League will be Wednesday January 3, 2024. Ukulele classes begin in January, taught by online instructor Eric Larin with his Unalaska on site assistant, Ms. Lisa. Choose the student or adult class, either will be every Tuesday for 12 weeks, beginning the first week of January, at the public library. We have soprano ukulele available at PCR for loan, or you may bring your own (*great last minute gift ideas!).
