Cookbook Club is returning to the Unalaska Library! We hope you are having an excellent summer and are ready to talk about the delicious food you’ve been enjoying. Our August book is OAXACA: HOME COOKING FROM THE HEART OF MEXICO by Bricia Lopez. We will meet on Thursday, August 15, 5:30 PM at the Unalaska Public Library to share food and discuss recipes we tried. All are welcome. Extra copies are available for checkout at the library.

Children and families are invited to a special story time and tea party at the library! We will read stories in the kids’ room and share tea and treats outside (if weather allows!) on Saturday, July 27, 1:00 – 1:45. If the weather is not nice, we will have tea inside the library. This program is best for ages 2 – 6 with caregiver, but kids and families of all ages are welcome.

We're only a few days away from the Ballyhoo Mountain Run, which takes place this Saturday July 20! This race up and down Ballyhoo Mountain will test your physical and mental limits and provide you with a great view of Unalaska from the top of one of our most iconic peaks! Sign up at the Com. Summer Playground participants can be picked up at the Community Center today, July 16. They have moved inside due to the weather.
The library will have a second local plants garden meeting on Thursday, July 18, 5:30 PM. We will discuss which plants to include in the garden, and we’ll hand out buckets and dirt so that people can start collecting plants! All are welcome!
